Spottedfire stood in the shade of a tall pine tree. The needle like leaves were starting to grow, only letting thin rays of light through. She was up against the tree, though she was hardly hidden. She remained utterly motionless as the two mice across the small area stiffened and sniffed the air. She nearly let out a sigh of relief. She had not been noticed. She changed her position to a hunting stance, and a single pine needle moved barely. But, apparently, the mice weren't attentive enough to notice. Thump!

She landed on them both with a paw, they were so close together. One was dead immediately, the other only injured. The injured one scamped under her paw, and ran off. She stumbled off the dead mouse, slightly disoriented. She could hear the mouse running. She took off after it, noticing a few blood stains on the pine needles. Mousebrain! She thought towards herself, angered at her stupid mistake. With a strong push forward from her anger, she caught up to it. She killed it, and sighed. A frown was on her face, as she dragged the mouse back to the first mouse. She sighed, and shook her head disapprovingly.

Spottedfire was unnecessarily hard on herself. She always pushed herself forward to do the best she could, but when she messed up it frustrated her extremely. Her tail smacked the tree, and it caused a few pine needles to fall out. She curled her nose in disgust. Why am I so stupid?!?! She thought.
