Clan meeting

Mysticmemory jumped up to the high branch nervously. "Let all cats old enough to catch they're own prey gather beneath the high branch for a clan meeting!" she yowled, an obvious hint of nervousness in her voice. What would the clan say about what she had to say? Would they think she was... Crazy?

Let all cats old enough to catch they're own prey gather beneath the high branch for a clan meeting! Spottedfire heard the familiar call fill the air around the camp. Standing up, she stretched out her back before dunking into the clearing. She sat down, wrapped her long tail around her paws, and waited patiently for the meeting to begin.

Let all cats old enough to catch they're own prey gather beneath the high branch for a clan meeting! My ears flicked up curiosly at the sound of the familiar summons. I wonder what Mysticmemory has to say now? I padded out of the warriors den and sat next to Spottedfire. A familiar scent washed over me, I turned my head to see Tigerfur, one of my closest frieneds come and sit next to me.

I was just coming out of the dirtplace when Mysticmemory called the Clan to get together. I saw Ravenfeather coming out of the warriors den. I made a beeline across to him. Once I made it ther I asked, What do you think this meeting is about? I sat down next to him, our fur nearly touching. I turned my gaze towards him, awaiting his response.

I just gave a simple shrug towards Tigerfur as an answer. She should know me well enough to figure out that it means I don't know. Just as I predicted, she know what it means, and just rolls her eyes. She's always trying to find ways to get me to talk more, but she knows I won't crack. She also calls me a anti-social fur-ball half the time, but doesn't really mean it. I turned my gaze back to Mysticmemory to see if she would start talking soon.

The tiny black-and-white tom rushed out of the medicine cat den, hazel eyes bright with curiosity. I thought only leaders could call meetings. What's my mentor doing up there? he wondered, focusing the lone figure of the cat on the Highbranch. This must be serious. A thrill of excitement and fear tingled across his back. Something big was coming, something important. Could Mysticmemory have received a dream from StarClan? How come they didn't tell me anything--I'm her apprentice. Questions spiraled in the young cat's head, Shiverpaw padded to the front of the group, which was unusual for a cat like him--he preferred solitude. If his mentor had something to say, he would listen.

Cats of FireClan, I have called you for this clan meeting for a very important reason. Shatterstar has gone missing. I went into his den to speak with him, but a cat appeared and pushed him straight through the was. I think the cat was very powerful," she began. "Maybe even stronger then StarClan." she finished, trying to stay as calm as possible. "Shatterstar has left me in charge until he comes back, but I will listen to everyones decision." she mewed, calming down slightly.

Even though I was calm on the outside, on the inside I was starting to panic. Our leader was taken by cat that may be even more powerful than StarClan! I can't imagine the other Clans will react to this. They might try to steal or prey, or even our territory. My claws unsheated and sunk into the ground at that thought. Let them try! I pushed those thoughts aside so that I was able to calm down. How long will he be gone for? I called out to Mysticmemory.

I was shocked speechless. Mysticmemory didn't see this coming even though she's a medicine cat? I'm not trying to blame her, but a cat would think that StarClan would send us some kind of warning. Just like always, he seemed pretty calm. But since I knew him so well, I could see the panic that was arising on the inside. Then he unsheated his claws and sunk them into the ground. I wonder what he's thinking? But just as quickly as it came, the anger passed. Then he asked a very good question. I turned my ice-blue optics back upon Mysticmemory to see what her answer would be. I was curious and more than a little anxious to find out how long our leader would be gone for.

"Sadly, Tigerfur, I do not know. He told me to tell you he went on a journey, but I knew if somebody asked that question then it would worry us even more." she mewed in reply.

Hazel eyes widening at her words, the small black-and-white tom glanced away from his mentor and at the cats around him, open-mouthed. "Stronger than StarClan?" he echoed, disbelieving, awed, and even a bit fearful. Sometimes he had doubts about their ancestors, even though he never voiced them. After all, they were the spirits of cats who had lived and died like any other--how could dieing bring some one more power? But was this other cat living or dead? Just then a question struck him. Swallowing, Shiverpaw turned his gaze back towards Mysticmemory. "Wait. How did Shatteredstar leave you in charge if the cat had just appeared and pushed him through the wall?" He paused. "I mean, shouldn't he have been trying to fight the other cat?"

He did try to fight, Shiverpaw. And he said he left me in charge just before the cat pushed him through the wall." she explained, bored.
