General
Swearing Is not allowed. Anywhere. Ever. Especially not when you are roleplaying. Warrior swears are okay though. Respect Must be shown to those with more authority then you. Especially ∂εstΐŋy, who has little patience for those who do not. Joking is all right, just make sure it does not go too far. Spam My definition=Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. Basically, make sure your thread is in the correct board, do not post the same message more than once, and avoid double posting unless it is absolutely necessary. If while you are roleplaying you wish to say something directly to the user, please use some form of OOC. Fighting The thing ∂εstΐŋy has the least amount of tolerance for, especially when over something stupid. I do not mind debates in the least, I often take part in them. Just remember that in most cases everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Powerplaying Is when you say what another cat does in your post. Except in those rare instances where you might be speaking of one of your own cats, this is not allowed*. *Note: Playing other cats is alright in auditions unless the host states otherwise. Godmodding Is when you make your cat king/queen over all. In simpler terms, when the have no weaknesses, make every catch, and always come out without a scratch from fights.

Posts Must be at least five sentences long, preferably with correct spelling and grammar. These are very easy guidelines to meet, if you are having trouble I suggest you request some roleplay tutoring. On the note of spelling, chatspeak is not to be tolerated at all in roleplay posts. In addition to this, roleplaying in both third person and past tense (for the most part) is preferred. High Positions Two* may be held per person, but only within regulations. You can have one leader or deputy, and one medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice. No exceptions. *Note: If, someday, we have a particularly large amount of members this is likely to be decreased to one per person. Plots Are kept with utmost secrecy. This is because we believe it will be more fun for you players if you do not know what is going to happen. If you have a suggestion for a plot, please send a private message to ∂εstΐŋy. Auditions May be held for any sort of adoption or such that one player might desire. Rules specified by the maker must be followed. Auditions for medicine cat apprentice will be held by the player who roleplays that medicine cat. This can happen whenever they wish. A special note about plot auditions: Every once in a while there will be a cat directly involved with the plot who we decided to hold auditions for. Some basic information on the position will be provided, but only the user we chose will get a more detailed explanation.
Cats
First of all, when creating your cat make sure it is in the correct section. You would not want your cat you planned to be in EarthClan being accepted into FireClan. Second, staff may not accept their own bios. And third, if you are making a cat specifically for an audition, mark them as a warrior (or apprentice, depending on position you are trying for) since this is what they will be counted as if you are not chosen.
Names
Kits The name of a young cat will always end in 'kit'. The first part of their name will stay with them for the rest of their life, except in those rare cases when cats have their names changed. Examples: Moonkit, Pridekit, Swiftkit. Apprentices The name of a slightly older cat, six moons or more to put a finer line on it, will always* end in 'paw'. The first part of their name is carried over from when they were a kit. Examples: Moonpaw, Pridepaw, Swiftpaw. *Note: Medicine cat apprentices will sometimes have a warrior-like name and still be referred to as an apprentice. Warriors, Queens, Deputies, Elders, and Medicine Cats The name of a warrior, queen, deputy, or elder* can end in multiple different ways, although it is generally a word which works with the first to describe something about that particular cat. Examples: Mooneyes, Pridetail, Swiftriver. *Note: Elders will sometimes have their name changed when they retire to reflect something that happened during their life. Leaders The name of a leader will always end in 'star'. The first part of their name is the same as it has been for the rest of their life. Examples: Moonstar, Pridestar, Swiftstar. Rogues, Loners, and Kittypets These guys are easy. Their names can be just about anything. Nothing inappropriate please.
Ranks
Kit The youngest members of a clan, aged newborn to six moons. They are confined to the nursery with their mothers until they become apprentices. Apprentice Aged six moons and up, these 'teenage' cats are mentored by a full warrior until they are ready to become one themselves. Unless they have permission, they are not allowed outside of camp alone. They have their own den within the clan. Medicine Cat Apprentice These select young cats are lucky enough to be trained by the clan medicine cat to take over their position when they die or retire. Often, they will be kind young cats who also have an air of authority. They are chosen by the medicine cat. Warrior Warriors make up most of a clan. The job of these cats is to protect and feed the clan, as well as mentoring those younger than them. They can be a minimum of twelve moons. Queen When a she-cat warrior becomes pregnant she is called a queen and moves into the nursery. Some she-cats prefer to spend most of their life this way. Medicine Cat These cats care for the sick and injured in the clan. The only requirement is that they have knowledge of the herbs, generally learned from the prior medicine cat. They meet once every full moon at the moonridge with the other medicine cats and their apprentices Deputy The 'right hand man' to the leader, deputies organize most hunting and border patrols. There is only in each clan, chosen by the leader. The cat must have mentored at least one apprentice. If in the case of a leader dying or retiring, the deputy will take their place. Leader Leaders have nine lives, gifted to them by StarClan. Their general job is to oversee the clan in all it does. Loner A cat who is generally rather kind who lives outside the clans. Rogue Much like a loner, only harsher. These cats often enjoy invading clan territory and stealing prey. Kittypet This is the name clan cats have given to those felines who live amongst humans. Since they rarely have any fighting skills, clans will often treat them with reasonable kindness when they are found on their territory.
Other
Time Applies everywhere, even on roleplay sites. Queens must have been pregnant for two weeks before kitting (adoption thread should be posted at least a week before the event), kits may not become apprentices until two weeks are they are born, and apprentices must have had three full training sessions before they become a warrior. Simple, right? Cats in Threads Generally speaking, your cat should not be in more than one thread at a time. Exceptions would be in the case of special plot posts, gatherings or other meetings, and private threads. Litters Should not have more than six kits. If you wish your queen to bear more, than you must directly consult an admin. Also, if you cannot find roleplayers for all of your kits, than those who go without will simply cease to be in existence.
Notes
Plot Cats Cats that play a huge role in the plot will be roleplayed from a separate account. This way, you will know when a significant cat enters the picture. Gatherings and Medicine Cat Meetings Will both be held once a month, generally with the thread for them going up on the first. Yes, I do know that in the books medicine cats met twice in a moon, but that is not how we do it here. See the section below for important information on medicine cat meetings. StarClan Will speak to cats through a separate account. You cannot chose what they will say, at least not at medicine cat meetings. Having your cat occasionally dream of StarClan is fine, and who knows, perhaps we will randomly decide to grace your cat with a dream no one asked for. Clans The clans here on StarClan's Chosen Path are sort of the changed versions of the ones in the books. StarClan has stayed the same throughout it all, and sometimes cats from the old days will come speak with them, but few stories about them are known. EarthClan=ThunderClan AirClan=WindClan WaterClan=RiverClan FireClan=ShadowClan Mates You cannot have two of your own cats be mates. I do not think it is nearly as fun, and besides that it is just a bit weird. So please try to avoid doing this or risk the rather of staff.
